Originally commissioned by Angel Lartigue for the film screening & ceremonial gathering "Water, Moon", included in the group exhibition and knowledge-building research lab, "Overlapping Territories" curated by Ashley Dehoyos at DiverseWorks.

"Water, Moon" is the soundtrack for the multimedia & ceremonial performance planned by Lartigue in the installation located @ MATCH - Matchbox in Houston, Texas, 2022.

For the sound pieces in WM, Lartigue took ritual core imagery as reference to develop every stage of her performance as synkretismos: mainly Don Pedro Jaramillo's healing techniques, the enigma behind water cycles and its physical variants, oceanic interconnections & transformation, and Joseph Beuys' "How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare", among other references; instructing and matching the desired aesthetic/moods as a cartographic catalog that could establish the strata, a mindset for the spectators to witness incarnation.

Every piece introduces a new cycle inside the performance, choreographing the moving graphics, ritual reflections and installation environments, for example, "Turtle Specimen / Curandera's Heartbeat", the first track, was designed as a vessel, a spacial introduction to prepare the audience through the performance, "DNA Extraction" creates a liquid environment in the fl-ux between the ancient hereditary voices inside DNA and the sea's record of human history, "Dark Ocean", a sibling piece that works as a bridge, samples ocean's entropics as field recordings to build harmonic patterns encountering harp notes, and, the climactic piece "Injection of Estrogen / Ancestral Chants" shows a side of Lartigue's practice rarely explored, her whispering collision taking the side of the ancestor voice, providing the perfect setup to surround and embrace the injection of estrogen performed by her mother on stage.
